Peter 1:8,
“Receiving the end (τελεος) your faith the salvation (σωτηριαν) of your souls.” Thus faith has a goal, it has an end game, when it reaches that goal it is perfected.
Σωτηρια: To be delivered from something bad, and then preserved from it. i.e. to be kept in a state of wholeness and goodness. Preserved from decay or a state of decay. Every believers legal standing is perfect in Christ before God. But that is only if his faith is genuine. The genuineness of one's faith is evidenced by his desire to perfect holiness within himself. For He has said, “ be holy for I am holy.” And “how can two be together unless they are agreed?' Thus one's faith cannot be genuine if he does not desire the things of God. If he does not want ultimately in the end to be in the image of God, revealed to us by His Son. Christ the perfection of beauty, this beauty is described in Isaiah 53, it is not an image that this world esteems nor desires. The image of Christ flows against the image of this world. But in this the faith of every believer is tested and refined. Tested in this world and refined to be like Christ. 'That in the end it may be found to praise, honor and g 1 lory at the revelation of Jesus Christ. But a perfect faith is only achieved by testing, by fire and trial, by experience. By walking daily with Christ, through the troubles of this world, through deprivations, through injustice and male treatments, through the sins of this world, through the temptation of the flesh and only so as to in the end come out as gold, which has been perfected by fire, heated 7 time (though more than 7 times). See how Abraham's faith was perfected by walking with God, and in the end the genuineness of his faith was completed and proven in his offering of Isaac.
